10 April 2008 - Phantom Cine QuickTime Toolkit version 1.0.5 has been released. This update improves performance with 8-Core Macintosh systems. Fixes are now in place to detect and properly utilize different Intel CPUs. Other image quality and preference bugs have also been addressed as well.

19 March 2008 - Phantom Cine QuickTime Toolkit version 1.0.4 has been released. This update improves image quality when debayering certain Cine movies. A new sRGB gamma mode has also been added, and a button to remove a temporary license has been added too. Performance improvements have also been added, for playback.

4 March 2008 - Phantom Cine QuickTime Toolkit version 1.0.3 has been released. This update fixes a number of bugs, and improves stability. The Demo mode has been expanded to allow people to see the different debayer types, and advanced features. A new Pixel Grouping Debayer Algorithm has been added to improve image quality with image processing. Network License support has also been added.

27 February 2008 - Cineon/DPX PRO + FCP 2.5.12b has been released. This version bump, includes an important fix for QuickTime 7.4 compatibility. It is recommended that everyone upgrades to this version.

25 February 2008 - Cineon/DPX PRO + FCP 2.5.12a has been released. This version addresses some bugs that customers have found. Bug fixes for Linear Adjustable, a 2K scale mode has been added, and fixes to network licensing are included in this update. This is the last update for v2.5.x. Its been a great year's worth of effort! We are now focusing on the delivery of v3.0, which adds a fantastic array of features. Take a look at our discussion forum for more information.

8 January 2008 - Cineon/DPX PRO + FCP 2.5.11 has been released. This version addresses some bugs that customers have found. Bug fixes for 8-bit DPX files, Timecode during export, and Final Cut Pro Import panel are included in this update. 2008 promises to be a good year. We have a number of improvements in the works for Final Cut Studio and Filmmaking in general.

29 December 2007 - Phantom Cine QuickTime Toolkit version 1.0.2 has been released. This version addresses several known bugs and limitations. Color Accuracy is now comparible with the HD-SDI output of most Phantom Cine HD cameras. Black and White Level Sliders are now available, as is new Brightness and Contrast Controls. Overall speed improvments, and bugfixes have also been included. Enjoy! I look forward to providing new features and products in the New Year.

29 October 2007 - Phantom Cine QuickTime Toolkit version 1.0 has been released. A new QuickTime Toolkit to enable scientists, engineers, editors and artists the ability to read and work with Vision Research's Phantom Cine movie files. These files are generated from a Camera that is able to capture several thousand frames per second. Vision Research's Phantom line of cameras are used throughout the manufacturing, aerospace, defense and movie industries.

2 October 2007 - Cineon/DPX PRO + FCP 2.5.9 has been released. This version fixes many problems that occured in v2.5.7 - 2.5.8a. New for v2.5.9 is the ability to directly export from AJA's Kona3 10-bit RGB/LOG codecs. Also, DPX video pixel chromaticites are now supported.

12 September 2007 - Cineon/DPX PRO + FCP 2.5.8 has been released. This version fixes many problems that occured in v2.5.7. QuickTime Codec errors and General Catch All errors should now be resolved. New for v2.5.8 is the ability to select YUV-RGB video Coefficients during DPX export.

26 August 2007 - Cineon/DPX PRO + FCP 2.5.7 has been released. Direct 10-bit Uncompressed 422 support added. This speeds up FCP by converting Cineon or DPX files to YUV. Bugfixes for PPC Final Cut Pro 6 code.

16 August 2007 - Cineon/DPX PRO + FCP 2.5.6 has been released. Accurate YUV to RGB Linear or Logarithmic image conversion has been added. Gamma level adjustments has also been fixed. System Preferences now supports default settings for Frame Number Padding, and Frame Start Numbers during export.

25 June 2007 - Cineon/DPX PRO + FCP 2.5.3 has been released. This is largely a bug fix and stability update. Keycode support has been improved in Spotlight. In addition, compatiblity with MacOSX 10.5 Leopard has been added.

1 June 2007 - Cineon/DPX PRO + FCP 2.5.2 is now available for download. Batch import added for this version, compatibility improvements made with Final Cut Studio 2, and other performance improvements have been made. This is a free upgrade for 2.5.0 users.

14 May 2007 - Cineon/DPX PRO + FCP 2.5.1 is now available. New features include Threaded Playback, Anamorphic Scaling, Improved Final Cut Pro Tools and a Final Cut Pro Demo mode. 15 April 2007 - Cineon/DPX PRO + FCP 2.5.0 will be released at NAB. New features include Playback, 3DLUT support, and Final Cut Pro Integration. Visit us at our booth for a demo. Pricing and upgrade details will be posted soon..

16 Februray 2007 - Version 2.07 released with many overal stability improvements especially for XSan and Final Cut Pro. Other improvements include fixes to the DPX headers during export, better 64-bit file support in Cineon and assorted fixes to Preferences and the UI. Spotlight Plugins have been updated to support S-two generated DPX frames.

24 December 2006 - Glue Tools is honored with an Award, "Most Notable Applications of 2006 - Honoring Innovation and Forward Thinking" by Behind the Frame. "DPX / Cineon QuickTime Components by GlueTools - Treats a folder or a drive of DPX or Cineon images like it is a single QuickTime movie. All Metadata is preserved and the infrared channels are still accessible."

15 December 2006 - Version 2.0.6 released. Several fixes to improve playback. Improved license entry on unlock panel of system preferences. Timecode/reel name source can now be first dpx file name. Timecode track fixes for FCP.

4 December 2006 - Version 2.0.5 released with program improvements including support for infrared dirt and scratch alpha channel.

14 November 2006 - Version 2.0.3 released with many fixes: Improvements to the installer package which now automatically removes older versions and launches Spotlight indexing for Cineon and DPX frames. The components are now substantially faster at loading ranges of frames. Several enhancements have been done to read a wider variety of badly created dpx frames by other vendors. 64-Bit file sizes have also been fixed. Lastly, unresolved bugs in QuickTime involving 16-Bit per channel support have been patched.

11 October 2006 - Cineon/DPX PRO Version 2.0.0 released.

Improvements for Cineon/DPX Import:

  • Read Timecode from headers
  • Load Cineon or DPX frames as a "movie" instead of a range of separate frames (BIG improvement for Final Cut users!).
  • For FCP, you can specify the "Reel" name, or use a header field from the DPX file header.
  • Override header information, so that you can choose which colorspace to open an image in. (ie: If the header is set to LOG, but you want to load it as linear, you can override the settings dictated by the header.)
  • Choose YCbCr coefficients when loading YUV encoded DPX frames.
  • "extremely" limited 2k image playback. (It might be possible do 24fps playback through QuickTime, but you would need a fast set of drives, and a fast computer.)

Improvements for Cineon/DPX Export:

  • Write Timecode into headers from Timecode track.
  • Save Frames as if it is a "Movie". Exporting a range of separate images isn't necessary, anymore.
  • Save as LOG or Linear files.
  • Set Starting Frame number from QuickTime.
  • Choose framenumber padding from 4, 5 or 6 digits.
  • Settings dialog menu is now available at export.
  • Project and image description can now be added to header.

New Feature Spotlight Plugin:

  • Search for Frames via Keycodes.
  • Search for Frames via Timecodes.
  • View Header information about image file. Items such as colorimetric information, byte packing info, image depth, image size, transfer method, project name, slate info, etc.

17 September 2006 - Version 1.14.2 released with minor bug fixes. Fixes to DPX component.


25 August 2006 - Version 1.14 released with assorted improvements throughout. New for this version: Thumbnail support in Finder, print density/linear RGB read support for DPX, and improved DPX header support for TV formats. Metadata write support is also available. 24 July 2006 - Version 1.13 released with a new features and bug fixes. Improved 16 RAW read support in DPX. Metadata tags now available to developers for reading Cineon or DPX file headers. YUV 8-bit 422 read only support for DPX component! YUV 444 and 10bit file support in the works for YUV. Metadata and YUV write support is planned.
